Liam Powers

Major: Plant Science
Graduation: Spring 2025

Liam grew up in the small beach town of Niantic on the southeast edge of Connecticut. Liam explored colleges and career options late in high school and ended up choosing the U for its superior plant science program and the credibility of CFANS. He was scared as it was far away and he knew no one there. Soon Liam received a scholarship from DTS and chose to live in the house his freshman year. This was one of his best decisions, he has said. Although he doesn’t have a background in agriculture, Liam has made a home here and has generated many connections both social and professional. Through this, Liam has embraced Minnesota and St. Paul culture.
